When I found out that MTV put up a massive collection of music videos online, I was curious to see if they would edit the videos and if so, how. Well, I decided to pick the most challenging video to censor, which is Bjork’s Pagan Poetry… the video shows nipples displays sex in a uniquely distorted. This video played uncensored on MTV2. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pagan_Poetry. The first  scene to get censored was a cut to her face… with a large black square :

Why the face? Maybe because she looks like she is enjoying herself “too” much? I don’t know…

Btw here is a screenshot of the distorted sex scene.. if it wasn’t for wikipedia, I never would have known for certian what was being shown during these scene: (note: these scenes are not censored at all on MTV’s site)

MTV censored the nipple, ear, and back piercing as well… I can understand the nipple, but ear and back?

Sean Kingston’s “Beautiful Girls” has the word “suicidal” completely removed from the song

they don’t have:
Rape Me
Smack My Bitch Up

So, just like I never buy music from Walmart, I won’t be getting my music videos from MTVmusic.com

The censorship may also tied to brand names… MTV bleeped “Burger King” from the line “I once got busy in a Burger King bathroom”
